What the Work Shows

The wider BCI ecosystem supported $24.4 billion in GDP and 225,800 jobs in British Columbia in 2024. Pension payments accounted for 36.5% of the GDP support and 37.1% of the jobs supported, while the benefits reached communities across the province, including rural and remote regions.

Pension benefits are household income streams as well as financial liabilities. Following where those payments go shows how retirement security supports local spending, employment and economic resilience.
